What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a natural, hands-on method of heath care that helps to ensure optimal communication between the brain and the body by minimising interference. The nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord and nerves and is the master controller of the body. Sub-optimal function of our spinal joints can interfere with communication to those nerves and muscles that control our posture and movement. This interference can lead to discomfort, acute or chronic pain, and “wear and tear” often attributed to normal ageing. By restoring proper function to the musculoskeletal joints, chiropractic can play an important role in relieving the pain from repetitive strain, poor posture, pregnancy, sports injuries, stress and accidents. In many cases, Chiropractic can provide relief in cases where other methods have failed.
All treatments are conducted in private treatment rooms and wheelchair access is provided. Chiropractic adjustments consist of a range of techniques designed to improve the function of joints, reduce muscle spasm and nerve compression, and restore proper weight-bearing. Other modalities such as trigger point, percussion massage, and myofascial therapy are employed to assist in relieving pain syndromes that accompany spinal misalignment.
